To Govern The Night
To Govern the Night draws upon our adoration of the moon and our inability to see things outside of the context of ourselves. NASA has long been creating imagery of different moons, many of these are created from multiple photographs that are stitched together to create a full image, and this idea has been replicated using 49 separate photographic prints. Each print is a different part of a poppadom enlarged to focus on the cavernous texture, the same texture that we are taught to relate to the moon; using something that many of us consume often to replicate something that we only see for ourselves as a small bright light in the sky. Something we cannot touch replicated by something we can have in whole.
